From when I was old enough to talk, I have always been told that I was mature for my age, looked older than I was, or that I never hang out with anybody my own age. A common childhood story my mother likes to tell her friends is that when I was 6 years old I would hang out at my mom’s hair salon and sit up in the “processing booths” with the customers and ask them “so what are you getting done today?” and my mom would be so impressed of how I could have a full on conversation with a stranger for over 30 minutes. It occurs to me often that I find myself making new friends that are older. Most 13 year old boys are rational where I live, so I have to seek out new, older friends. Some “friends” make fun of me for not having any friends my age. But does it really matter? The majority of my friends are between the ages of 19-35. Some say it’s a gift from God, others say I need to get friends my age. The way I think of it is, if you have older friends with more experience in life, you can come to them with your life problems, and they will be resolved more quickly than a 13 year old kid.

Just another example why god is the 1 and only true God.

I have had some incredible experiences this summer, from my mission trip to Alaska, meeting new people, visiting old great grandparents in New York, seeing my family in Tennessee, to chilling out with my new neighbors in the neighborhood. But now it is time to crack down on school for but another 180 days of torture. BUT! This upcoming year I am determined to think positive, make the best out of every situation, and deal with all the curve-balls thrown at me.

I have grown closer to god more this summer then ever before. Some say it’s because i’m getting older, but I think it’s because I am starting to notice how much god loves all of us unconditionally. And how blessed I am to have loving parents.

Ever since I was old enough to ponder thoughts I have always noticed one thing in general, every day there is some weird coincidence about words, bible verses, and people!

So right now your thinking, “huh?” yeah, its complicated. So let me give you an example.

2 days ago a bunch of friends and I were hanging out, and someone said a word that was not in my vocabulary. Not a bad word, just a word I had never heard. So I pondered the meaning of that word….. and thought and thought and thought, but just couldn’t seem to find the definition. So 2 days after that, the word comes up again! And at that moment the first thing that comes to mind is …. The coincidence. Second thought is, what is the definition.

And the same goes along the lines for people. I will hear about someone, then couple days after, I will meet them. Lately it has becoming more frequent, but it’s all around god. So now when something happens it often goes along with something I read in the bible. I take this as a HUGE advantage, as a better understanding on the world we really live in. For example. (true example) On Monday, my family is a big fan of the T.v. Hit Reality show on TLC called “John And Kate Plus 8″…. The week before I was reading Proverbs in the bible, and it was Proverbs 6:32 ” But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment;
whoever does so destroys himself.”
And I remembered that. It was stored in a big part of my mind. Then, on Monday, this exclusive episode of John And Kate Plus 8, The Dad is being accused of Adultery. The mom is of course torn, They have 8 little kids! And there marriage is in danger. All I could think about was the scripture I read that week before. And I felt bad, very bad for them, and there kids.

So that’s my life. Coincidences everyday, mostly all good. There have been some bad.

But i’m not the only one that this happens to, it can happen to everyone! all you need is a good memory.
